Co-op’s Local Community Fund

Friends of Silloth Green are grateful to have been selected for a second year running as a local cause to benefit from the Co-op’s Local Community Fund.  When members buy selected Co-op branded products and services, the Co-op will give local causes a helping hand.

In 2020/21, a total of £2,846.82 was raised for Friends of Silloth Green thanks to Co-op Members.  The money has been used to buy plants, tools, materials and refreshments for volunteering sessions on Silloth Green. We have also built new raised beds at the Community Garden, so that those with disabilities can take part more easily.

Friends of Silloth Green work for the enhancement, maintenance and use of Silloth Green, to protect the facilities and help improve them.  This encourages a sense of pride and ownership, as Silloth Green is a valuable community asset.  Our volunteering sessions protect mental and physical health, help people make new friends and learn new skills.  It can help to reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated and provide a sense of purpose.  If you would like to get involved then drop us a line or why not choose Friends of Silloth Green as the local cause you would like to support?  Email:  friends@sillothgreen.co.uk
