A welcome addition to Silloth Green!

Nine new picnic benches are being installed today on Silloth Green by our grounds maintenance team, for use by local residents and visitors to the town. The Town Council also wanted to support our local businesses, by providing somewhere for people to sit after they’ve bought their food etc.  Within seconds of a bench being put in place a passing cyclist sat down and took a welcome rest whilst enjoying his food.

The benches which are made from recycled plastic will last for many years to come.  Thanks must go to Allerdale Borough Council for agreeing to fund the benches and also three new bins, after our Mayor Mark Orchard asked if they could assist with funding.
